Priceline Questions

I mentioned this once but we are taking a babymoon to Chicago at the end of April.  I want to use Priceline for the hotel.  Should I book now?  Do you get better rates if you wait longer?  If I want 4 stars downtown, what's the best rate I can expect..I don't want to start too low and waste my time or start too high and not get the best deal.

    I have always used Priceline within the last 1 or 2 weeks before my trip.  I'd go ahead and try now and not change anything if you don't get it.  Put your lowest possible price in and the area, and see what happens.  My best Priceline story ever is that I stayed in a 4 star Renaissance by Marriot hotel in Brussels, just down from the International Congress for $50.  The card in the hotel said it was 450 Euros per night!  What a steal!
