Need advice for 1st birthday present!

Hi all.  T-TTCer here.  Our good friends are having a party for their soon to be one year old daughter, and we need to give her a gift.  Usually I'm great with these things but for some reason I'm drawing a blank this time.  I tried going to Target this weekend, but it was hard looking at the baby section and I could only stay for a minute.  I ended up with one tactile book on colors, but want to get more. Does anyone have suggestions?  We'd like to keep it under $30.  Thanks!

    Little People Stuff...they have some retro sets out right now in honor of the 50th anniversary. ?A swing for outside. ?I have a linked email with ideas for my DS...if you want I could send it to you.

    The Playskool Air Popper is the best first b-day gift ever! DS still loves his and all of my friends that have it, love it as well :)

    Another great idea would be to get them a water table for the summer :)

    Our LO got musical instruments for her 1st birthday that she liked. I know it was purchased at Target but I can't find it online to show you a picture. The brand is Parents and it was a drum filled with shakers and other noise makers. I think they're around $20.
