NBR: Bare Minemals

Has anyone used the Bare Minemals make-up? There is a store in the mall and I was thinking about getting it. Was it hard to match your tone? Expensive??

Thanks!

Re: NBR: Bare Minemals

  • it is expensive, and i havent used it myself, but there are tonnes of places online that sell great mineral makeup

i use pureluxecosmetics.com the most... you can get samples for a buck each, so you can order 10 samples to figure out your match

    (they have AWESOME eyeshadows too)

meowcosmetics is another one, they have a larger range of shades for fondation/concealor but i had a harder time finding a match - they also offer samples.  their samplscome in baggies instead of little  jars tho... pet peeve of mine

  • I use it and like it a lot. It's light and doesn't look "overdone" on me. I don't generally wear a whole lot of make-up so this is a great product for me.

I don't think it's very expensive and it last a long time. They have a nice starter kit that comes with a number of items and includes the brushes.

  • I've been using it for years.  I love it.  Honestly, my skin has never been better w/it.  I bought the starter kit for $60 and just added to it.  It may seem expensive but the makeup lasts a long time....ex. a $25 jar of base will last me 4-6 months.  I highly recommend the kit cuz you also get brushes....The women at the store will match your tone/they do a good job.

  • I use it and I love it. I don't like my makeup to look caked on, and bare minerals is really light if you apply it properly (it can look caked if you do it wrong).  Plus, I'm not good with things like liquid makeup so it's idiot proof.
  • I use it & LOVE it.  I have yet to find a brand that is as good as that one.  It is more expensive... the starter kit is $60 I think (comes with the brushes & small containers of the foundation, mineral veil & something else) & after that the foundation is $25 for the regular container of it.  For me it's totally worth it.  I have very sensitive skin & this does not make me break out at all.

  • I can be pricey, if you start buying all the eye shadows and extras. I use the foundation, bronzer, blush and mineral veil. I use it daily, and have found the foundation & mineral veil last about 2 months. The blush and bronzer I have had for about a year & they are still half full.

  • I use it. It's not that expensive considering it lasts forever!
  • I love, Love LOVE Bare Minerals.  I've been using it for years, and even in the summer, it feels like I'm not wearing any makeup.  You don't get that face-melting feeling you get when you wear traditional foundation.

Totally worth it for the $$$.

Note:  I find the loose shadows/liners a major PITA.  I stick to Bobbi Brown for my eye makeup.

  • Love it! The knock offs are not the same. I've tried a couple different ones and the bare Minerals are the best! One container will last you a minimum of three months.
