I bleed blue, simple. I went to UK. I was joyous after UofL's loss, to say the least! Enjoying the Cards is blasphemy in our house. Blasphemy!
THIS!
I was dancing around the house yesterday after the loss...When we first bought our house the downstairs bathroom was all decked out in Cards junk. It was the first room to be repainted and is now UK all the way!!
Have you ever looked at IAM4UK's bio on here? We were pregnant at the same time (first time around) - she has a kickass coffee table that she painted that looks like the Rupp Arena floor. It's perfect. (They also have a blue & white Christmas tree.) I think she mostly hangs out on the Preemie board.
My dream house is in Simpsonville and the basement is all Cards. Blech. They even have a UofL bar light hanging over the pool table. BOOO. They mentioned on the news this morning that this is only the fourth time in history that UofL has won more than 30 games in a season. Ha!
I totally agree! Pitino will work his magic - the longer he's there, the more recognition they'll get. If anything, that man can coach. Well. Makes me nervous.
The UK/UL game in '07 was on our wedding day. At 7, there were about 45 people shoved into my ILs' living room, watching the game. DH & I went home, got out of our clothes and watched it - we left our reception early!
Any guesses on who the new coach will be? I need to read the article in the CJ yesterday ... DH said it was pretty good. Something about Gillispie trying to demand a full buy out?
I always enjoyed Pitino as a coach and was sad to see him leave UK. Even sadder to see him go to UL years later...
There is no way I would even be able to schedule an important date like my wedding anytime around when the Governors Cup is played! Atleast you got to watch it afterwards, though! I'm just upset that I won't be able to go to the game this year...
I'm hoping for Izzo, Miller or Calipari. I love, love, love both Ford and Pelphrey since they are KY boys but find it would be tough to run them out if their seasons looked anything like Billy Clydes! I haven't read the article yet either but still have the Courier at home from yesterday. Who are you thinking/ hoping for?
I have a soft spot for Ford, but I'd like to see Calipari come. I guess we'll find out soon!!!
I will be marching my happy pregnant ass up Commonwealth stairs this fall. I'm determined to make it this year - I've missed the past two. (Wedding, then last year I was just too lazy.) I miss tailgating!!
So, are you a homegrown Kentuckian or a transplant? I want to guess that you're homegrown.
I wish I could but SO and I both agree that me being 9 months along wouldn't work well sitting on the bleachers. I'm sure we will make the drive to tailgate the game as usual, though, and come back home to watch it.
Born, raised and will never leave kind of Kentuckian! I love it here, well not so much in Louisville. If it wasn't for my job we would be living in Lexington. I do like that we live fairly close to Churchill and can't wait for the Derby. I will be taking my pregnant self to that!
Ooohhhhh the Derby. I'm trying to find grandstand tickets this year. Usually my FIL gets them through his company, but we haven't heard anything yet. I have my fingers crossed. (I'm a horse person, anyway. LOVE racing.)
My FIL grew up in that area. We're in Shelby County, so we're not too far away. Do I smell future playdates? There's a Louisville area board, btw, called LouisvilleMommies.com. It's slow, but the girls are really sweet.
OH! And I have a suggestion for you for later on. There's a photog named Jes Deis in the Ville that does a WONDERFUL job (and she's cheap). We had her come out to cover C's birthday party and the pictures were beautiful. jesdeis.com, I believe, is the website. I have to AW her just because she did such a great job for us.
I miss Lexington. I lived there while I was going to school and looooooved it. But, I'm glad to be back in my hometown (I'm literally 10 minutes away from the house I grew up in). I've made a full circle.
I always enjoy the Derby from the infield. It's amusing watching all the drunks running across port-a-potties, playing in the mud, etc! We went to opening day at Keeneland last year and had soooo much fun, too. My father is planning a trip for us to go to Calder the weekend after Derby.
I work with several people that live in Shelby Co. and my cousin lives in Shelbyville. Future playdates? Sure! Most of my friends children are already 4-6 years old! I will check out the louisvillemommies.com webiste for sure! Thanks! And also thanks for the lead to the photographer. I'm sure since this is our first we will be overdoing the picture taking!

I'll have to check out her profile! I just told SO that they purposely scheduled the UK/UL football game on Sept. 19th to send me into labor.
Just remember, all that red paint and garbage is easily removable!
Hahaha...they didn't deserve their 1 seed! I'm just glad they finally got bumped from the tourney. They didn't deserve another championship, IMO.
