Lexapro Weaning

Has anyone weaned off Lexapro?  I did and coincidentally googled side effects and I am reading all kinds of horrible stuff : (  I am hoping that I will not have too much discomfort.  I started to take it for PPD 17 months ago...

    It can be horrible or you may feel nothing at all. It depends on the individual, dosing, diagnosis, etc.  If you do feel badly, call your MD.

    I've never taken Lexapro but I have been on Zoloft for a very long time so I know what the weaning process feels like. Do you have a professional monitoring your medication? If so, they will guide you through the whole process and slowly cut back your dose. You will have side effects but if you are weaned the right way, they should be minimal. The most I have ever experienced while going through withdrawals was dizziness, nausea and sweating. Usually after a week they are gone though. Good Luck!
