Hysteroscopy experiences?

I'm having a hysteroscopy next Thursday so the doctor can determine what is in my uterus (could be scar tissue or polyps) and remove it.  It's being done in her office.  She said it will be similar to the sonohysterogram that I had last month, which I didn't find to be painful.

If you had one, what was your experience like?  Was it painful?  Did it take long?  Any advice??

Thanks!

    I've hade one in January.

While it wasn't fun, it was ok.  Take a couple advil an hour before.

Once the camera/probe was in, I felt strong cramping. Just keep breathing.  It doesn't take them long to have a look around.

She found retained tissue from the d&c that had been 3 months before.  Lucky me eh?  So, she asked if she could just remove it.  I figured we should just get it over with so I had a mini-d&c while we were at it.    That part was more uncomfortable but she was fast.

Apparently I have a nice uterus from what she saw : )

Thanks for your response.  Sorry about the retained tissue :-(  I had that problem - had a D&C on 1/6 for a missed m/c and then had to have a repeat one three days later because of severe cramping.  It was horrible!  And now this... I anticipate it is scar tissue from those two D&Cs.  Lovely.

Congrats on your nice uterus though :-)

Mine was done as an outpatient procedure at the hospital, and I was completely out for the whole thing. ?I had several polyps that had to come out. ?Since I was under, it wasn't painful, and the recovery was quick with very little bleeding.
