Infertility

petite and IVF

If you are petite, do you do the same protocol as everyone else with regards to stims?

I'm 91lbs and 4'11" and I was wondering if they would put me on the same type of drugs as everyone else. I'm sure I'd have to have a decent amount of eggs to even do IVF but I was wondering if I would even produce enough to do FET if IVF didn't work.

Just curious...thanks!

Re: petite and IVF

  • REs look at antral follicle count and FSH among other things. I've never heard of REs increasing/decreasing meds due to body type. I'm petite too, and I'm on maximum dosages due to low response (i.e., 525 Gonal-F).

  • I'm rather small myself and I am a horrible stimmer. I am on 450 bravelle and 150 repronex. I do not think the amount of drugs is done by weight, but more so on how well your body responds to them.

  • I am tall (5'9") and thin. My local RE put me on a protocol based on my body frame. I waaaaaay overstimmed and ended up with severe OHSS. CCRM bases your protocol off of your antrical follicle count and CD3 b/w.

    Hope that helps!

  • I agree with PPs. I am petite (5'1, 115) and I had similar doses to others. It's all how you respond...
