Parenting after a Loss

Depleted

I am very tired.  My dad came to visit for three days, and it was great to see him, but he was more work than help.  And the weather was bad, so we basically sat inside and watched basketball, and the baby was kind of crabby and when is this going to get better?

Re: Depleted

  • It will get better in about a week and a half. :)

Seriously though- things changed dramatically for us at the 3-month mark. And the closer we get to 4 months, it's even better.  I had the crabbiest baby ever (who wasn't much of a sleeper to boot) and now he is a barrel of laughs, smiley, and in general naps and sleeps much better. At 2.5 months, I wouldn't have believed my baby could ever be this good. So hang in there.

Houseguests are a drag, no matter how much you love them. Both my parents and my ILs are so sweet and helpful, but are often more stress than help- so I bet you'll feel better now that you don't have to entertain, too.

  • I am sorry you are feeling down.  I am feeling down also.  Just plain tired.  Hugs.

  • ((hugs)) I hope things get better soon.
  • Newt - so good to see you!

I'm sorry you are feeling so wiped, but like Sueball said there is a light at the end of the tunnel.  Pretty soon the Newtlet will be able to entertain himself and you'll finally be able to do something around the house without a baby on your hip or listening for him to wake up from a nap.

  • hi newt. good to see you. it does get better. you are very close. hang in there.
  • Aw, I'm sorry sweetie. ?When it gets better, the baby is an absolute joy. ?Hope J.W. gets there soon!
