4 positive HPT's, now AF

I don't know what is going on and I need some advice.  I tested on Friday evening at 6dp5dt and got a BFP.  I tested twice on Saturday and got BFP's (one on a digital).  I tested this morning and got a BFP.  Then, less than an hour later, I started cramping and spotting.  Now it is like day one of AF.  Do you think it was a chemical pregnancy?  Do you think there is any chance this will still happen?  My head is spinning right now.  I don't know what to think.  After being elated for two days DH and I are really crashing right now.  I just don't know what to do.

  • There is def. still hope!!! Hang in there!!!

This whole IF thing really sucks, and if its not one thing its another I swear. In reality it could be a chemical pg. When is your beta??

  • When did you take your trigger shot? ?That can stay in your system for 2 weeks and cause the HPT to be positive. ?

  • My trigger was 3/14.  My beta is scheduled for 3/31.
  • First, I'm so sorry you're going through this. I was also thinking it could be the trigger--I take it you didn't test it out? You could always call your RE (or whoever is on call) to ask. You never know--AF could stop this evening and it could just be heavy spotting.

  • Ugh. Sorry you are on this roller coaster. Hang in there....call your RE tomorrow and see if you can get in a day early???

  • Remember, over 50% of IVF patients can spot or even bleed (heavy!), so this is definitely not over. We have seen TONS of girls on here spot and bleed with BFP's.

I wouldn't freak too much yet. Just lay down and rest for the day. I bet the bleeding will slow down.

Good luck - call your RE office and see if they'll let you come in tomorrow for your beta.

Just wanted to say Ditto! This is exactly my understanding of how this sometimes works. Also wanted to say sorry this is so stressful & I really hope this is your BFP!

  • Thanks ladies for your advice and encouragement. I'm waiting for the nurse to call back. I'll keep you posted
