When did you start sexy time again after IVF BFP?

My doctor tells every IVF patient not to have sex for the first trimester. I'm tending to think that's an abundance of caution ... and DH is deploying for six months at the end of the first trimester, so it seems awful to think of going almost a year without sex.

Is 12 weeks overkill? I feel ready, but I'm a little scared, too. Maybe after the 2nd u/s this week? I'm curious to hear when everyone started again, or what your doctor recommended. 

After 7 failed IUIs, IVF w/ ICSI worked!!

I am thankful every day for my miracle after infertility.

And thrilled to be pregnant again after FET!

    We did IUI not IVF, but I still wanted to wait until after we saw a heartbeat, which was 6w5d. ?I think we got busy the next night! ?;-) ?My dr didn't tell us not to, I just knew I'd blame myself if something went wrong. ?

    I'd probably follow your doc's orders but we started having sex right after I got a positive pg test....maybe even before I can't remember.  My RE never gave us any restrictions in that department (at least not that I can recall).  Maybe you could explain your DHs deplyment situation to your doc and see what he says.

    After my u/s on Thursday we met w/ one of my re's nurses. We went over everything and everything and sex was one of them. We were going to ask the question if it wasn't brought up. We were told sex was fine. Of course dh's eye's lit up since it's been a LONG time.

    The couple of times we had sex at 5w and 7w I spotted, so my doc recommended waiting until after the first tri was over.  Just for our own sanity.  FWIW - my RE said that we could have sex 4-5 days after transfer.  You might also want to check with your regular OB when you get released.

    I didn't do IVF so I don't really have an answer...but I was laughing about you calling it sexy time! I love it!

    I'd wait the 12 weeks honestly, if that's what your Dr says then they have a reason...I'd rather be safe than sorry! KWIM?

    I had sex the day before bfp beta b/c I tested the day before and it was negative, so technically I was 4 weeks. ?But then we waited till after we saw the heartbeat.

    The few times we did it caused bleeding which was way too stressful. At first I said... after we see the hb... then after the 1st tri...  My RE said we could anytime after the BFP was ok. My OB says b/c of the bleeding and stress its probably better not to (I have placenta previa, I think that might be way) otherwise it would not be any problem.

     Anyway. No Sexy time for us.
