Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months

At what age...

Did your DC start grabbing for everything? That is, you had to be sure you moved all hot or sharp away from anywhere that your DC could reach them in a sitting position.

And when did your DC start to be able to grasp food like teething biscuits and put them in their mouth (and not immediately fall to the floor)??

I'm trying to figure out where Marley falls in her development as she just started to develop these skills in the last week.

Re: At what age...

  • I think those things came around 9 months or so? It's hard for me to remember exactly. Of course, ds was a preemie so he may not be the greatest benchmark by which to judge.

  • I'm trying to remember...the grabbiness was 7 months maybe?  She would hold a biter biscuit and play with it at about 6 months but she had little interest in feeding herself until around 1 year.
  • I would say they started grabbing everything around 6-7 months and started feeding themselves at 8 and 10 months.

  • We had to make sure everything was put up at about 8 to 9 months.  right about when she started pulling herself up on things.

with the biscuts she started at about 7 months,  but anything food related lucy is all for.  she would just sit and feed herself all day long if you let her.
