Semi-TTTC related: I've got to get my weight under control!

So in June we will have been TTC for two years, and the only thing I have been successful at is gaining weight. I don't know why it finally hit me today--maybe it was the herculean strength it took to (barely) button my jeans, but it's clearly time to get it together. And the worst part is I can't even blame it on meds--we don't start IVF until May! It's just good old fashioned "maybe I'm pregnant so I don't have to watch what I'm eating", which, when done two weeks out of EVERY month, really adds up.

If any of you have any advice for getting emotional eating under control, I'd be most greatful. Anyhow, thanks for letting me vent.

  • I'm about to start my weight loss journey! We have a trip to Mexico planned for 2 months from now, so my goal is to feel better about being in a bathing suit by then. I have about 10-15 pounds to lose.

I think I have just reached a point where I can't "justify" the weight gain anymore, and that alone is enough to help me make better food choices. I just keep thinking about how I HATE to not be able to button my pants. And today I had to buy new pants that were TWO sizes bigger than what I bought last fall! That really helps me to choose a salad over fries!

I'm planning on just trying to make healthier food choices, and to increase my exercise. Hopefully that will be enough to make a difference.

    good luck to you!!

  • Been there! ?I gained a metric ton of weight after we got married (how pathetically typical!) and the whole TTC debacle hasn't made the situation any better. Oh, how I wish I was one of those people who DIDN'T eat when they're stressed!

I've recently started getting back to the gym and being more conscious about what I put in my mouth. ?I love the Weight Watchers online program - not having to go to meetings and sit through some broad's monopolizing the discussion with her Cake Issues makes it SO much easier to stick with. ?

Just take it one day at a time. Find something fitness-y that you like to do - and start slow! ?Take a nice little walk, lift some light weights while you watch tv - just make sure it's something you enjoy - and in no time you'll be back on track!?

    Good luck!?

  • My incentive was do I really want to get pg at this weight? If I do get pg at this weight and gain another 50lbs I will never be able to lose the weight post baby. I haven't been doing a lot of exercise, I hate exercise! But I have been using Sparkpeople.com. I have been watching my calories, eating small meals throughout the day, and been drinking more water. I am an all or nothing girl, so I cut out all snacks, all soda, and all fast food. This is the first time I have ever been able to lose the weight and I think I just woke up one morning and decided enough! Yes, IF sucks but why am I letting it ruin my body? Not to mention the way I feel about myself. And like I said the incentive was to be at a lower weight for when I do get pg. I want the cute baby belly that I dont think I would have had before, hell no one would have even been able to tell I was pg lol!

Good Luck, find what works for you! Make the decision that YOU are worth it! You deserve to feel good and look good, dont let IF get the better of you.
