I feel like an enviro idiot because I have not heard of this. No way it is happening now because basketball is on. H would laugh me all the way to the hippy commune.
I think it's nice. We are doing it minus the tv & laptop.
Little Man (4 years old---holy cow) He's the single greatest thing I've done in my life and reminds me daily of how fun (and funny) life can be. He's turned out pretty swell for having such a heartless and evil mother.

I got an eye roll when I went out and suggested it. I did unplug everything in all other rooms besides the living room. it's as close as I could have gotten with H.
I am ashamed to admit that MH and I are both environmental engineers and have not heard of this.
You live in Texas, that's why...
Austin is not real Texas!
HEY NOW.
Leave off my state, yo. I love Texas and my dh has a Texas tattoo so we're the people likely to fire off six shooters and yell 'Yee-Haw' when you mention it. I'm not sure I like your tone, little lady.
j/k
But Texas is among the leading states in wind-based energy and alternative sources. Our state is oddly progessive some areas (like this, and say, requiring insurance companies to cover midwives and homebirth and IF testing/treatment) and totally ass-backwards in other areas (like, education). Go figure.
Don't judge us all because Bush was from here.

ha ha....I messed with Texas!
I love to hate Texas. I lived in Dallas for 15 months and was really depressed most of the time I was there so didn't appreciate it much at the time. Even though I am most at home on the East Coast, and feel home in the liberal NE, I did LOVE Ft Worth and, of course, Austin. There was a independent spirit to those places that Dallas seemed to shun.
Ahhhhhhhh. Dallas. Well, there's your problem. It's not my favorite place. Apart from being filled with Mavs fans of all things (hard to imagine they exist, really, but apparently they do, and the despair over that has to be depressing), a lot of the people I know from there are . . . um . . . pretentious.
You know the 'Keep Austin Weird' shirts? Someone made and sold quite a few 'Keep Dallas Pretentious' shirts and I laughed really hard when I saw it. San Antonio and the Hill Country are my favorite places to be.

BallSox, I don't know you but I think I should.

Good point, good point.
If it weren't for Austin I'd totally write off Texas altogether.
