I was very disappointed to get that call. I thought a DE cycle would finally get us to a 5dt and, in my experience, being called in for 3d meant they weren't doing very well.
Well, boy was I wrong! Of our 9 embryos, we still have 8 of them!! 4-5 were looking really good and 3, while lagging behind, are still alive.
Given my history, they decided to be more aggressive and bring me in for a day 3 and also to transfer 3 into me (which they only do 5% of the time when using donor eggs). He said all 3 look great, with one, in particular, looking really great. All have less than 5% fragmentation. He put our odds at 60% (I've never heard them give better odds, so, I think that's their max), 30% for twins, and 5% for trips.
So, I have 3 babies in me now and they're stil watching the other 5 for potential freezing!! And, I feel so much better than I felt this morning!!
Re: Had DE 3dt today
I am SO excited for you, sweetie!!! My only BFP was on a 3dt so I'm a fan of them! :-) snuggle in and grow, embies, grow!!!
good luck and get lots of rest!
I logged on to check on you - good timing for me!
I am soooooooo thrilled for you - how exciting!!! You have awesome odds and I'm guessing you will fall into that 30% bracket and get twins!! Woo Hoo!!! Take it easy - make your DH wait on you hand and foot and enjoy all the pampering and attention - you deserve it. When will you find out if the others make it to freeze?? Not that you will need them - except for maybe a few years down the road when you are ready for another one!!!
Good luck!! Sending you ton of good wishes and positive vibes!!!
TTC since May 2006. After 3 failed Clomid cycles, 2 failed Injectibles/IUIs, 2 failed IVFs and 1 failed FET, we moved on to adoption!
Last ditch FET resulted in BFP, and identical twin girls!
Wow that sounds terrfiic!
I know most people get discouraged with a 3dt but my RE prefers them, even if you have lots of great embryos.
I can't wait to hear about your BFP!
That's great!!! How exciting!! I hope they continue to grow nice and strong and the other ones turn into nice frozen embies!
Rest up and GOOD LUCK!!!!
Thanks everyone!! I haven't felt this hopeful since we had 4 embryos, albeit with my old eggs, in IVF #4 in September '07! The countdown begins!
Oh, and I realized today that, one of the benefits of donor eggs - no trigger to test out!!
I am so excited for you! 8 embryos is a fantastic number.....hopefully you'll get some good frosties out of them.
60% chance is awesome. Get lots of rest and let the embies snuggle in.
I am a runner, knitter, scientist, DE-IVF veteran, and stage III colon cancer survivor.
That is such good news! Snuggle in tight little ones and I hope you get some frosties!
