Crinone anyone?

I started to get very large hives at my injection site for progesterone in sesame.  The doc is switching me to vaginal gel suppositories.

Just wondering if anyone has used this product before?

The nurse gave some rather descriptive details of gel removal after a few uses.

Any extra info on using this product would be great?

Re: Crinone anyone?

  • This is my 2nd month on crinone. You have to apply it in the morning, i guess it works better.

I do get small white lumps after a few days, which is completely normal.  what did she tell you about the gel removal?

it's been fine for me, i don't mind it all that much.

  • I've used crinone and it wasn't that bad.  I would get a little bit of a white discharge after a few days but nothing bad.   I did them right before bed so that might've helped!
  • I have to use two suppositories a day.  She said after the third administration that I should "scoop" the gel from my inside before the fourth suppository is put in place.

    Sorry if TMI!!

What is the deal with the white bumps?

  • I think you mean white lumps.  It is just buildup from the suppositories.  Since you're using two a day you will have more of the buildup but I would think your body would naturally get rid of it.   I hope you don't have that much to "scoop"! lol
  • Compated to PIO I loved it. PIO was so much more high maintenace than Crinone. I did get white clumps, some bigger than others. I had to take it twice a day too, but my nurse never mentioned scooping it out. Keep in mind that it will change colors sometimes too (light orange, light pink, salmon), all totally normal.

  • i will get larger clumps at times too, it kinda resembles feta cheese a bit.  it's gross, but as long as it's not itchy or smelly it's fine.  I guess some people can get yeast infections from it.  i am only on it one time a day

  • Thanks so much for all of the information.  It is so nice to have this website to chat with other women going through similar scenarios.

The nurses know a lot, but my guess is that some women hesitate to tell the nures "all" of the details!

This site is great for the details.

    Thanks ladies :)
