O on Clomid, but not Femara?

This was my first round of Femara 2.5mg and I didn't O.  I've done 4 rounds of Clomid 100mg and O'd on every one (allbeit sometimes late and/or weak, but all BFN).  It seems like most ladies I see on here are opposite, don't O on Clomid so move on to Femara and O on that.  Should I try a higher dose of Femara, or go back to Clomid?

  • It is possible to up your dose of femera. I am taking a total of 20mg and my doc wants to raise that if this cycle doesn't work (I take all 8 pills on cd2 instead of spreading them across 4 days). If you didn't have lining issues with clomid, you could go back to that up to 200mg, but you will have to be completely monitored with that.

  • i guess it depends on why you switched...was it b/c of the s/e? thin lining? CM issues? are you not getting any good response on the femara? if you are getting large follies but aren't O'ing on your own then you can still trigger.  you can definitely try a higher dose of femara too.  most women start out ta 2.5mg but they also go up to 5mg and 7.5mg for 5 days.
