"Self-feeding is not recommended, as it may contribute to nursing-bottle tooth decay by promoting constant feeding and exposure of the teeth to sugars throughout the day and night. Self-feeding in a supine position (lying down on the back) has been shown to contribute to ear infections."
"Cradle him in a semiupright position and support his head. Don't feed him when he's lying down totally flat, because this will increase the risk of choking; it also may cause formula to lfow into the middle ear, wehre it can lead to an infection."

i'm sure we will get the "dr's don't always know what's best for MY baby".
it just ticks me off when I know people who can't have children and would give anything to hold a baby and there are women who can't even pick their baby up to FEED IT
