who don't go back to work after maternity leave, but don't say anything until after the baby is born We totally did not plan it this way - DH got a too good to pass up job offer 2 weeks ago, pretty much out of the blue. and he didn't get the official offer letter until earlier this week. the money is good enough to let me stay home, but he'll be traveling 50% of the time, so even if I did want to go back to work, I think it would be too hard to do daycare w/DH gone half the time.
I have to talk to DH about this, but I may offer to work part time until they can find a replacement.
So I have to quit my job sometime soon!
Re: OK, so i'm going to be one of those women
Congratulations! (assuming you're happy staying home)
Hopefully work will understand.
I am very happy about staying home. I just don't want to burn any bridges in this economy.
Truthfully, the place where I work always seemed sexist to me. Not overtly, but there weren't many women in the salary work force, and it an old boys club, because that is what it is.
So me doing something like this might not make the atmosphere any better for the other women who work there.
