i didn't get to see most of the drama until last night, but after over a year of seeing hippy on this board, i doubt she would have GBCN'd.

i think that message comes up when someone gets banned.

I do feel bad for her - things tend to get blown way out of proportion on certain areas of the nest. That said, she was part of the drama, and certainly able to hold her own. I'm sure she'll be back. Hope she's ok.

Hrrrmmm...

sadly this is the nest/bump's way of dealing with problems. Since there is little to no moderation of the boards, they really have no other way of dealing with issues. Unlike Ebay or even DS there is no feedback, etc. It's almost like an online CL - where it's just random people, putting stuff up, saying they will ship, etc.

As much as people hated it when they cracked down on the whole promoting etsy shops, etc in your siggies, I think avoiding something like this was why they made that rule.

People can (and have) made up fake bios, fake siggies, fake blogs, etc. etc. It's too easy for people to get scammed, etc. (I am not saying that is what happened here, but it could happen.)

This whole thing is surreal to me... I kind of know her IRL (she is in my local mom's group) and never have I heard a single bad thing about her...

Seems to be maybe a case of someone who didn't have bad intentions but just should not be buying and selling online when they don't have the greatest self control about doing what they say they will.

She did get banned. I won't share the reason The Nest/Bump gave her, because that is her info to share only, but I will say that I think its pretty ridiculous and I feel Hippy was singled out on issues that other posters are guilty of ... and some much worse.

I doubt its from BBs posting yesterday. More likely crazy etsy lady complained directly to the nest. Hippy kept posting about it, so they deactivated her account.

I've heard (discussion on 6-12) everything from posting personal info to doing business on the nest. Who knows - may be both of those and the crazy etsy lady. I don't know if I'm reading more into it than is there, but the nest gods seemed to be keeping close tabs on her near the end.

I feel like a gossip... ah well!

I know a lot of you really like Hippy, but she has blatantly been stealing from people on these boards. It's rampant. I hate to say it, but it's the truth.

I forgot about crazy etsy lady too.

I am sure it's all of those things together- I have nothing against Hippy at all, but I can see how the bump-people-in-the-sky would just see her as a troublemaker and therefore ban her. That etsy woman seemed totally insane.

here's the thing tho - no one forces anyone to buy or trade with someone else. the goings on in nov/dec etc were heard about on the boards and you know there were personal issues. you act like she's been screwing people over on purpose and had ill intent from the beginning but if she was 'scamming' people on purpose she wouldn't come hang out with folks on here, that would be ridiculous and stupid and she's neither.

IMO people should take more consideration before buying and trading with anyone. there's been a problem, we get it, but board hopping and trashing someone because YOU don't believe their "issues" are valid is just wrong.

just sayin. this whole thing has been very upsetting.

Hippy posted actual pictures here and on 0-6 starting a whole bunch of comments on said pics (calling them inappropriate in more colorful words than that). Etsy seller caught wind of it, pm'ed everyone who commented in those threads (or most of them), even if what they said wasn't negative, and was rather off her rocker in the PM's. I believe she and Hippy also got into it - Etsy lady said she was calling the Secret Service on her, etc. Big ol' mess.

She did post the link on follow-up posts, but not on the original thread here on EFF.

She did post the 2nd post about it on 6-12, and posted all the pictures, but someone else posted the first link to the etsy site (which in my opinion, wasn't a big deal at all - if I had a dime for every time someone posted a bizzare Etsy biz on here... lets just say I'd be better off). Doesn't really matter anymore.

I am the one who started it all back in November. I am the one who waited and waited for two different orders. I am the one who was ignored by Hippy when I repeatedly e-mailed asking for an update or saying 'hey, I know you are busy ... just send a refund'.

From what you said in the above paragraph, I am to blame because I purchased from her?? I had previously ordered and received one order from her that went off without a hitch. Why should I not trust that she could do it again?

It took me 'outting' her on here to get my order and refund from her. There is no reason it should have gone that far, but it did. Since that moment I have been scarce from the board. I felt like people disliked me for bringing it to light. I am sorry, but I kept it a private matter long enough. Obviously, making things public gets her attention and gets the ball rolling.

I understand Hippy has a bunch of friends on here and the other boards....but do not make those of us who have had problems with her feel like we are at fault for the situation.

no my point was that if you had issues before or knew about the issues before and then bought again and had the same thing happen, you can't throw a big stink because you decided to try again.
