2 chem preg, 4 failed IUIs, 2 canc IVFs, 2 BFN IVFs, IVF #5 = BFP!!!
3/23 Beta #1 @ 17dpo = 913, Beta #2 @ 19dpo = 1724, Beta #3 @ 21 dpo = 3240
First u/s 3/29 @ 5 weeks 2 days - 3 sacs 6 weeks 3 days - 3 heartbeats 8 Weeks - Lost Baby C, Babies A and B going strong
Beta #3 and History (long)
Our third and final beta is 3240. Not double but about 90% increase so RE is happy with that.
Since things look good so far, I decided to post our TTTC journey. Hopefully it can help someone else.
We started TTC in October 2006. After 6 months with no luck, my ob/gyn referred us to an RE ? the same month as our first chem. preg. The RE diagnosed as ?Unexplained? but both DH and I had minor issues. They found elevated FSH when I did the CCT and DH had low morph (2%). Our RE thought it was still worth a try to do 3 IUIs before moving to IVF. We did all 3 and all 3 ended in BFN. We moved to IVF in Jan 2008.
IVF#1 ? Long Lupron Protocol (which I now think was a huge mistake on RE?s part. Why would you put someone with AMA on this protocol?) It ended as expected, poor response. We converted to an IUI ? BFN
IVF#2 ? Antagonist Protocol: 8 Retrieved, 7 mature, 4 fertilized. 3dt of 3 embryos. BFN
We got second opinion at CCRM. Would have loved to cycle there but couldn?t afford the cost of travel and IVF if it took multiple attempts. RE there recommends DHEA.
IVF#3 ? Antagonist Protocol - Cancelled after 10 days of stims due to a dominant follicle.
IVF#4 ? Estrogen Priming Protocol. I also took wheatgrass and DHEA off and on for a few months before. 8 retrieved, 7 fertilized, 3dt of 4 grade 1 embryos. BFN. RE said our quality was improved and recommends another IVF.
The following break cycle we had our second chem. pregnancy.
IVF#5 ? Estrogen Priming Protocol. I took DHEA and wheatgrass for 4 months straight before IVF. I started acupuncture once a week for about 5 weeks before ER. I also did acupuncture right before and right after 3dt. 8 retrieved, 5 mature and 4 fertilized. We transferred 2 grade 1 embryos and 2 grade 2 embryos. BFP on 7dp3dt.!! If I had to say why we were successful, I think it was the combination of DHEA and Wheatgrass as well as doing acupuncture the day of ET. I also think luck had something to do with it.
My main symptom was cramping, but it was more like ovulation cramps than PMS cramps. Everything else was the same s/e that I had every other cycle and being on progesterone.
Thanks to everyone on this board. I don't know how I would have survived the past 2 1/2 years without you. I hope to see you all on SAIF soon!!
