Babies: 0 - 3 Months

What did you get at your shower?

I'm thinking most people don't buy a lot off the registry- they just uy what they like (cutesie little clothes ect.)??

and the idea of it is totally annoying the crap out of me. I know I should be greatful, and I will be for whatever we get but.... I blame the hormones. Embarrassed

So, what did you get?

Re: What did you get at your shower?

  • A lot of stuff not on my registry, but I use it all. Except for the 10 billion outfits. I had to put 3 outfits on the baby a day just to get them all in.

It would be easier for me to list what I didnt' get- LOL.  I did get most things off my registry along with a lot of clothes.  It was perfect. I have awesome fam and friends!!!  The only thing I got an excess of was blankets and washclothes but I did end up using all the blankets and I probably will bust into another pack of washclothes here soon.   I also got several giftcards which I used to get my breastpump.

  • I was lucky. I got all my big items, except for the highchair. I got the bedding, extra sheets, changing cover pads. Pretty much everything I registered for.

  • A combination of both stuff on and off the registry.  The main things not on the registry were clothes and diapers.  I was able to return most things though.

    Good luck.

Yes, this. I got a ton of clothes too, but guess what? Babies need clothes! And lots of them! They get poop and pee and milk on them all day, so you'll change them several times.

  • Some off the registry.  Lots of clothes which I didn't register for because people like to pick those out on their own.  Big things we got our swing and pack and play and convertible car seat.

  • Our friends and family we sooo generous.  Most of what we got was off our registry.  My SIL did include our registry information with the invitations so I'm not sure if that is why we got so much from the registry.
  • there are kids starving in africa, you know!

  • I didn't know if I was having a boy or a girl which I think reduced the number of clothes I received.  I still got a lot of things I didn't register for: towels, washclothes, and outfits.  If I had too many duplicates, I just returned them.  I think I probably got 10 towels and 30 washclothes so I took some of those back.
  • The ONLY things DH and I have had to buy was the crib bedding, changing table and stroller. We were VERY lucky to get everything we did. And most of it wasn't on my registry, but we still have used it all. My DD is almost 4 months old and we still haven't had to buy diapers yet.
  • Unfortunately we got mostly clothes so we had to buy all our big stuff except the travel system. Oh well though... we use it all.

    C'est la vie!

  • I got some stuff from my registry but not many large items. Since I knew I was going to get clothes, I registered for ones that I liked and even though I got mainly clothes, they were ones I had picked :)

  • We got mostly all the big items we requested on registry,  and the rest we got in gift cards($400.00 total) since most of my best friends & family lives out-of-town.  We still have have gift cards for clothes when DS out grows clothes.Big Smile
