F/U: to DH being shot.
He's fine. Doing well, complaining as usual. I told him he needs to take a shower b/c he smells like the hospital.
They caught the shooter that night. Aparently there was a short car chase in which the shooter got out and ran. He was then tracked down by the police K-9 unit. The detective told me that he had a felony arrest warrant on him for a robbery and he just got out of prison months ago.
He also said that he would probably be charged with felony assualt and with the weapons charge he would serve a minium of 5 years, no good time option. And seriously in a way I'm glad this happened with little harm done. This kid (he's 21 y/o) is hell bent on destroying lives, his own and others that he comes in contact with. If this hadn't have happen God only knows what would have. So H took one for the team in a sense.
The girl was detained and released. She got H's number from Cousin and called him yesterdayto tell him how sorry she was for taking the car and that she was just really scared. I knew that was the case and I honestly don't blame her but at the same time that doesn't fix my car or get me to work. She said she's willing to pay for the damages but I don't see that happening as she is young unemplyed, with 2 babies and doesn't really have any $.

i'm also VERY glad they caught the guy! is your H going to have to testify in court or anything?
I'm glad he's better. That is soo scary! I hope the car gets fixed too.
You know he's gonna be milking his injury for all the sympathy he can...."But babe I was SHOT." I'd be milking it. Big time.
I'm so glad your DH is o.k. That was kind of surreal, yesterday.
that depends on whether or not it goes to trial, which at this point I have no clue. But he says if it does, he will.
And Happily - lol @ fave five. Yes, he knows, we've talked about that. This girl was at our house last weekend for a BBQ and that was the last time. Like I said I feel for the girl, but I have my baby to worry about and I do not need her kind of drama.

I was thinking about you last night and praying for your DH. I hope he's healing well. Is he going to have to go to physical therapy?
Still having trouble wrapping my mind around it all. Like you said though...glad the scumbag is behind bars and something worse didn't happen. Still sucks your DH got shot in the process!

I can't imagine how I'd be if my DH had been in that situation. I'm really glad that he's doing better.
It is all good. Your comment made me laugh and YES he is already milking it. He asked for chicken noodle soup last night. Like he was sick with the flu. It made me laugh. My mom is a nurse and she said that since it didn't hit the bone and went straight through that his recovery should be fairly speedy as long as it doesn't get infected. So he can milk it for a while but once he's back to doing things he WANTS to do (I figure thats a good way to tell if he's ok) and he pulls the "but I was shot" then he'll have to suck it up.

My DH is a Trooper, I know I'd handle it just like you if he were shot. Good job for being such a strong wife!
Damn, what a mess. I don't blame her for being scared and looking out for herself only (especially wit two kiddos) but damn, I hope she somehow has that money.?
I hope that kid gets the book thrown at him.
And I will continue to pray for your DH's healing. *hugs* to you three?
