I just had an ANA (antinuclear antibody) test and it came back elevated. Is there anything else your RE tests for immunologically as standard? Are there other tests I should ask for?
I don't know if TSH is immunological or not (Thyroid) but I just had that done too.
On another note, almost two years ago I went through a series of tests due to elevated ANA (not related to TTC). I'd imagine they will refer you onto a rheumalogist to help figure out why your ANA levels are elevated as there are many possibilities.
At least you are on the right path to getting some help/direction. GL
I'm not a doctor and like I mentioned this had nothing to do with TTC. If the doctor feels its within a normal range and can be treated with Dexamethasone, then you should be fine.
Were you having any issues/side effects prior to being on the meds? I'd say as long as you are feeling good then its okay.
Would checking you for Ruebella (Measles) immunity count? That was one of the first tests they did to me. If you are no longer immune, you need to get re-vaccinated and not TTC for 2-3 months after.....
My autoimmune work up included APA's (anti-phospholipid antibodies), ATA's (anti-thyroid antibodies), and Natural Killer cell activity. Positive APA results can indicate a thrombophilia issue. Elevated Natural Killer cell activity can cause failed implantation and early miscarriages.
