Infertility

Back from RE - good/bad...

I just got in from meeting with my RE, who humorously asked if he could interupt our consultation to ask an off-topic question, he wanted to know Villanova score, knowing that I'm an alumnus - I screamed they spanked Duke by 21, yeah baby and told him that I almost came into the office telling him that first before even saying hello!!

Either way, here's the news:  I?ve got maybe a 10% chance of actually getting pregnant (high FSH, endo, fibroids which are gone at the moment), but I told him I feel lucky because on April 8 it?s a year since my fibroid removal surgery and Villanova won last night so I want to go ahead with the IUI anyway. My follicle in the right ovary is measuring 17mm so that I?ll probably ovulate on Saturday or Sunday - and that's my good, unblocked ovary, my uterine lining is good at 8 rather than 7 where it should be. As for the left side, it does look like I have some blockage due to scar tissue or adhesions (had HSG on Wed.), but that?s OK, because I have decided this is my month and my follicle is on the right side anyway.  We?ll see.

Thanks everyone!

  • Villanova played in Boston lyesterday and they had a news report and the sports reporter was basically making fun of all the Villanova fans and how Duke has whipped your butt for the past 20 something years. I don't normally follow college basketball, but was routing for VIllanova after that report.. I love underdog victories so congrats!!!

Hopefully more congrats will be coming your way in 2 weeks!!

A lot of years and a million tears finally led me to you.
After 7 years trying to concieve, 3 failed IUIs and 2 failed IVFs, my third IVF was a success!
My Christmas baby turned into a turkey bird! Dillon Richard was born at 34 weeks, 5 days on November 28, 2009 after 10 weeks on bedrest for preeclampsia.

  • Thanks Krissy - I figured everyone was all "Duke, Duke, Duke" they always are. VU doesn't get nearly the recognition they deserve, but they were the faster, better team last night and I'm so proud they won. Even my best friend who's a HUGE Duke fan admitted there was no question VU was going to win.

    Fingers crossed!!!
