Is it too soon to be stocking up on diapers and wipes and other supplies? If you are stocking up, what sizes are you buying? Are you waiting until closer to your due date to buy these things?
we are not buying any of that kind of stuff yet! although when we found out it was a boy someone bought us a pack of wipes for our "yay its a boy" present!
i would be- if i could decide what we're going to do.
i was going to go with g diapers- but they have aweful reviews. but i'm not this huge fan of all cloth diapers- but i feel bad about my child's diapers clogging up a landfill for the next 500 years. argh.
Wow... Am I way behind or what! I have bought nothing, haven't started a registry yet. All i have are two outfits that were gifts, and a crib my cousin gave me.
i have not yet, but i am gonna start probably in a week or two~ my parents go to the commissary - for those of you that dont know, this is a grocery store for ppl in the military and it's usually much lower prices than regular grocery stores- (my dad was in the army) so my mom has offered to purchase baby supplies for me there~ i just have to double check to make sure diapers are less there than at a place like BJs or Sams Clubs.
My DH and I got a Target GC so every pay week we add some to it. Since we don't know what size to buy yet or if we'll get any at showers, we decided to wait. At least this way we've saved the money up front and it won't be so overwhelming!
We started buying as soon as we found out I was pregnant. I only buy what I have a coupon for, and I mostly stock up during super double coupon week at K-mart when they double up to $2 coupons. I buy all sizes, and all brands based on the coupon I have. I also have been doing the same thing with wipes. I have a pretty good little stash going now.

Ugh - I'm in the same boat as you. I haven't done a thing yet. All I have for my little guy so far is an outfit DH and I bought for him at the Children's Place on the day we found out we're having a boy and a little onesie and bib set that says "Daddy's Boxing Buddy". I need to get moving.
I haven't bought diapers yet... but my aunt works at a hospital as a lactation consultant so when people don't open or take their diaper packs the hospital gives them she brings them to me. I have about 80 newborn diapers now. I figure this will get me through (give or take) a week and by then I'll want to get out of the house and will go shopping for some... so I don't plan on buying any diapers before the baby is born, but I don't think it's ever too early to start!
We have 1 pack of Pampers NB, and lots of wipes. The more I read, the more I am afraid of getting too many of the wrong size, and I don't know what I'll get at the shower so for now I am just stocking up on wipes. Figured you're always gonna need those..... And I think I'm going to buy a bunch of gift cards for walmart and use those for things we need.
We have been buying a box of diapers a mth for about 3 mths now. My sister used the Pampers Swaddlers with my neice and she raved about them so those are the ones we got. We went to Sams and got the box that has 234 for 37.99. By far the best price. We have 2 of the size 1-2 and last mth we bought the size 3 for 15 lbs and up. The lady at Sams told us we can always exchange for sizes if we get to much of one.
My mom stocked up on diapers for me and she said most of them went to waste. She said only certain brands fit me at certain times. If she put a brand on me that didn't fit right the diaper would leak.
I am sure diapers have come a long way since then, but we are getting a few packs of different brands to see which works best for us before we stock up.
Just an FYI, some babies are allergic to certain types of diapers. My sister had to switch around until she found one that her DS could use.
You might want to wait until the baby is here to stock up.
This is my concern with wipes as well. I have very sensitive skin and I'm afraid baby might take after me in that respect. I think I'll probably just wait until he gets here to buy any.
No, Im going to wait until nearer the time. Who knows what we'll get as gifts as I put some on my registry, and I'm not going to need that many packs stored up.
I started buying some because I found a great deal on-line and got a box of 250 diapers for 28 dollars using coupons. I have 2 boxes of size 1 and 2 and then a box of size 3. I am not buying any newborn because I will get some from the hospital and a friend gave me a ton when her baby grew out of them. I also have a few boxes of wipes.
We arnt going to buy more then a pack of newborns and a pack of the size one. I dont want to stock up a bunch and then the baby not be able to use what I buy. We are just going to save up the money then when he or she gets here we will buy some.

Ditto this. My DD can ONLY wear Pampers Swaddlers/Cruisers. Not even the Baby Dry. For whatever reason, every other diaper we have ever tried have either leaked really bad or given her a horrible rash. So, be careful about stocking up! My friends who had a baby shortly after me ended up with most of the diapers I had been given at my shower b/c we couldn't use them.
Not buying per se. We are getting all of our diapers through MIL (she works at a hospital and they can order them for super-cheap). She already has a couple of cases at her house, but we haven't paid her for them yet or anything. I doubt we will stock up until May/June. I don't want a bunch of diapers in size(s) he can't wear and no way to return them.
We're definitely stocking up. Right now we have a few packs of newborn (in regular Pampers, and sensitive), a few packs of size one, and several packs of wipes.
Both of my sisters in law told me that Wal*Mart will let you exchange unopened packages for different sizes/brands without a receipt. This is what I plan on doing if/when I need to.

Yeah, I was going to say it was recommended to me that I not stalk up, as babies sometimes like certain types of diapers, are allergic to certain types, etc. You also dont know how quickly baby will grow out of a certain size. It would be no good to have 10 packs you cant even use for one reason or another.

I have been doing this as well. I think it is safer than buying diapers that the baby either doesn't like or doesn't fit into.
We are stocking up on both now, we have bought all sizes NB-2 so far, a few packs/boxes of each.
I know that both Wal-mart and Target in my area will exchange up-opened boxes of diapers for another size if need be. So I have not opened any of them that way if LO grows to fast or is a big baby, we can just trade them up. (I haven't asked BRU yet, but I will be LOL)

Thats why we are not buying them yet.
