Infertility

BFN

I'm so upset. Now I have to get my lap and I am so afraid to go under. I hate IF!!!!  The one good thing is that now I am done with my OB and I have a plan with my RE. I am certain that I will get a confirmed dx of endo. It is strange that I has had a feeling since I was younger that I would have problems getting pg.

After discussing with my DH  last evening before I got my BFN this morning  I decided that I will go to the RE for medicated cycles,   IUI. If it is neccessary to do IVF since I am OOP anyway. I will go to Colorado.  We have had 2 success stories in my hometown from Colorado. Both women went to numerous RE's and had IUI and iVF with them. They went to Colorado (different years) one is now pg with multiples and the other has 3 children (one set of twins). I just don't want to waste time or money.

I like to plan ahead, and that has been tough with IF, but I feel like I have a plan.  I am going to try to take it one step at a time.

Re: BFN

  • I am so sorry-- BFN's are the worst! sounds like you have a good plan for the future!

    Good luck!

  • Sorry about the BFN, but hopefully the lap will give you some answers and you can form a plan from there.  Here's a tip on the lap: you may experience gas pains throughout your abdomen and into your shoulders, and if you do, take some gas-x.  It really helps at relieving the pains.  I didn't know this for my first lap and I was in agony, but I combined the gas-x with the pain meds and the pain was minimal.  You may want to ask your doctor if it's okay to combine the two just in case.  I did and didn't have a problem, but I always think it's best to run this stuff by the doctors.

    Good luck!

  • I am truly sorry
  • I am sorry. BFN's Suck. It's good to have a plan.
  • I'm sorry about the BFN. I hope the lap provides some more answers for you.
  • Bummer about the BFN. Bellavida had a great tip on the lap. That was definitely the most uncomfortable part of the whole process. Also, ask what type of suture they use at the incision points. My first two laps, they used stitches but on my third they used the liquid skin stuff. When I sneezed, the incision by my belly button opened up. Wasn't a big deal, nothing major, but I had to go back in to have it reapplied. Then every time I felt a cough or sneeze coming on, I had to hold a pillow over my belly and lightly push. So weird. I understand the nervousness behind going under, but the procedure itself isn't too bad. I'm sure you'll do great. If I don't get a BFP soon, I'll probably be back in the OR also. Endo pains are getting really bad and it's been awhile since my last one. Sorry I'm babbling.

    Good luck!!
