I can't sleep. Is anyone else up?

My throat hurts and my glands are all swollen, and my brain is restless. 

Is anyone else still here?

    Yes my dh works out of town so he is away several nights a week. I can't sleep when he is not home. It sucks!

    There's not much I can take, sadly.  My blood pressure runs high so I'm not allowed to take most standard cold medicines.  No robitussin DM no nyquil etc.  I can take mucinex, since it's just guaifenisen (sp?) and no advil or asprin, so it's basically mucinex and tylenol.  I was thinking about getting a bowl of boiling water and a towel next.

    Ugh that is no fun.... I would say gargle some salt water, but I suppose that won't really help your throat too much. I am pretty useless at this time of night, lol, esp since I've been up since 4am! I usually just have a popsicle when my throat is sore. I try not to take any meds at all. Which I had to give into last week and the week before, when I came down with chicken pox.

    Thanks!  Hey, this is weird, but have you ever seen Jeff Dunham's standup?  He's got a dummy named peanut who calls him Je-fa fa (because there's two f's).  I swear, every single time I look at your screenname, I think of that goofy skit and it cracks me up!

    LOL yeah I have heard of him but never that character! I used to be Jfo before I got married....kinda like JLo but Jfa doesn't sound as good as Jfo....it was a nickname. Oh I miss my maiden name!

    I miss mine too.  I love my husband, but the name is a LOT harder to explain, with regard to pronunciation.

    Yeah same initials so that was cool but I had an awsome maiden name! I always tell dh that when we have children I am giving them my maiden name so that they don't get tortured in school like he did!

    Oh dear....it must be really unfortunate if you're worried about the kids.  At least you don't have to explain the pronunciation using condiments!

    I'm going to try to get a few winks....mostly so my poor DH doesn't wake up alone and wonder where his wife is.
