Should I be concerned??
I should have pressed for more information when she said that, but I was so concerned over the freaking 12 pound weight gain that I didn't ask. She didn't sound super concerned, but should I be? I don't have any signs of preterm labor...I even had an internal last week and everything was perfectly fine.
I told her that I feel the baby up on the sides of my belly... sometimes down low... When she measured me I was measuring 26 weeks so she then mentioned that I could just be having a big baby.
Re: The Dr. thinks that the baby is "upside down"...
I'm 24 w and had an u/s on Monday. Baby was breech at the start of the u/s and head down at the end. They move a ton at this stage and it's of no concern.
I wouldn't take issue with how big you are measuring yet either. Again, from personal experience, baby measured 1w ahead at my 18w u/s, I measured on time in the office at 20w, and baby measured 2w ahead at my u/s this week.
My size-related concern at this point is gestational diabetes, but I have my 1 hr glucose at my next appointment, so I will know shortly. GD can lead to "big" babies and I'd like to get my diet in check if that's the case.
HTH!
Right now my baby is breech also. The dr told me that a lot of babies will turn up until 28-30 weeks. She also said we wouldn't start planning a cesarean unless I was still showing breech at 36 weeks. If you are still showing breech after a few more weeks, there are some exercises that could help the baby turn.
I have two fibroids in my ute that could prevent the baby from getting into the proper position and right now she is laying on her back across my ute (not feet first)
Head down is the opposite of breach. The only thing I can think is that she's saying the baby is in position to be delivered and that it's too early for that. But honestly that sounds like a really odd comment for a doctor to make. I thougth babies moved around a lot at this stage!
