  It is coming... sort of...  He signs really well and he started well on his verbal: he says Mama, Dada, and Bob (name of the cat my MIL lost) by his first b-day.  Well that was it.  Nothing since than.  I blame it on his loss of Bob.  Seriously though I'm hoping it is just a phase

  Not so much. She thinks she's talking, but it's in a totally different language. She can carry a full conversation that way. She really only say's Momma, Dadda, Buba (brother) and Koda (the dog). BTW, DS did the same thing Harmon is doing. When he hit 18 months, he started talking full board. It was like he was saving it all up in his memory.

  It is slowly progressing, she says mama, dada, woo woo (dog), boo (book) and nana. She also goes on and on in her own baby language, and then gets mad when you don't understand. silly baby.

  I personally think DD is a genius I'm not bias or anything though. Avery can say so many words. She's actually starting to put some words together, Like "Daddy don't" and "no, I done!" She's also learned that doggies bark... and she's started barking at all dogs... does doggie-language count? hehe. One of her first words was "DOG" and everything was dog....

  ds is a man of few words. he says mamamamamama but not necessarily to me. he makes lots of sounds, just not so sure they are connected to anything.

  Eh.

  DS will say mama and dada to us and I think sometimes he says more.

  He will babble all day and I talk back to him like we are having a conversation. He will seriously "talk" for 20 minutes straight.

  DS can say mama, dada, mom, and Hi.  He does know who to direct mama or mom and dada to now, which is nice.

  Mama , Dada, Nana, and lots of talking she will carry on a conversation all by herself do we know what she is saying no but it's cute.. Talks all day long i love it!

  DD is a talking f00l.  I know she gets it from me.  We are nonstop "talking".  As for real words she has, Mama, Dada, Dog, Blue (first word), Muk (milk), Dat (that), Look, Book, Don (Down), Barbra (babysitter), Papa (FIL), Bye, Hi, Don (done...yes, I know looks the same as Down, I can't write how Down and Done sound differently but they do I just can't type them out:P).  Granted she goes through phases with her words some days she uses all of them many times and then others she uses just the basics (mama, dada, muk, dat, dog) and treats the other words like they aren't worthy but will babble nonstop.

  he can say and sign about 5 words...I'm not too worried about it - I know he knows what I'm talking about he just doesn't feel like communicating with me! Just like his dad! lol

  Just this past week, Jude has really started talking more, saying, towel (random!), car, his own version of "honk," a variation of pillow, and dada and mama of course.  Some others, too, but those are his new words.  He isn't terribly reliable with speaking.  Oh, one of his faves are, "No, no, no, no!" and shaking his head.  Oops, guess I say that a bit much, huh?  haha!

  Ben is pretty chatty.  He knows the following words: Dada, Mama, Jordo (his sister's name is Jordan), Nana, PopPop, Blue, Birdy...and a few others that I'm forgetting right now. 

  But what I think is really cool is that if you show him an owl and ask him what sound it makes, he'll go "whoo whoo" and if you show him Santa Claus and ask him what he says, he'll say "HoHoHo", "woof woof" if you show him a dog...and "baa baa" if you show him a sheep.  It cracks me up.

  I wasn't worried about it, but my pedi is.  At his 1 year appt he only said "mama" and "dada".  Now he says those and "paw paw".  She said at his 15 month appt he should be saying 10 words.  I'm really trying with him!

  ben knows more than he lets on, i think.  he babbles constantly i feel like i m doing verbal roarshats (no idea how to spell that but i think you can get my idea.)  he has a few words he will say, from time to time, when hes in the mood   'at (cat) was the first.  he also has a few signs that he ll use, again when hes in the mood.

  Jax is a little slow on speaking.  Right now he says dada, mama, baba, and nana.  Althought I swear the other day he said apple but I haven't heard it since. 

  However, Jax is really exercising his lungs with his squealing, shouting, screaming, etc.  He is a very vocal little kid.  He just doesn't vocalize English words very well.  He'll get there.  I'm not too worried.

  I think Darby actually knows a lot of words, and understands a ton more. His first word was "uh oh" - which means something is out of place or on the floor.  Now he started saying uh oh before he throws something on the floor - like watch me be a little stinker. 

  He says "mama" and "dada".  "A nuk" which is funny because I must always say: do you want a nuk?   He says "no no" - to himself when's doing something he's not supposed to, or to our cats.  He can say "Aja" (for Ajax our cat).  He says "g'ma" (for grandma) and "Nana" (for Aunti Johanna).  He says "all done" and "get down".  He says "here you go" (here go).  He says "whoa" and "wow" all the time when somethings cool or he wants me to see something.  He answers questions "yeah" or "no".  He can say "hi" and "bye bye" (with a wave).

  I guess if I'm remembering them all, his count is at 17 words.

  Zane doesnt say much, he is more of an observer haha He does say ma, da, mama, dada, ba (for balloons and bananas), hhhhhot, and he started saying ra recently (that means rock when he sees one). He has been babbling a lot the past week so I think he is going to start saying more soon. Its so fun, I love his little voice!

  Adam doesn't say too much.  Mostly just babbles.  He has a version of "what's this" or "what's that" when he points to things.  Calls a lot of things dog.  Says mama and dada but not necessarily to us yet.

  Happy Thursday ladies!!!

  Well, after I just got done reading your post below Fransisca, I want you to know I ALWAYS feel like I am not doing something right with his verbal development.  And I am a certified Reading Specialist w/ a Master's degree!!!!!!  UGH!  Every single girl in my playgroups around Kolton's age communicates 10 times better then Kolton.  He says Up, Down, Duck, Mama, Dada, Out, Dat (that)....and, well, that is about it.  I read to him ALL OF THE TIME.  I don't know.  I think they just don't want to speak.  Heck, lord knows my DH could use some help communicating! hahaha

  Holy crap - I can't believe how many words some of your little ones are saying! ?DD is barely saying anything. ?She babbles a lot and has been making all kinds of different sounds lately but except for sometimes saying things that sound like other things like "I don't know" she only really says something that sounds like thank you. ?She babbles ma ma and da da but not to us specifically. ?I am not worried yet b/c she does sound like she is talking her own language, but I wish she would start saying a few things. ?Oh well. ?If she is anything like her father once she starts talking she is never going to shut up! ?Ha ha! ?

  Hey guys! My biggest update is that I am expecting #2! Francisca, I can't believe we are so close once again, I wonder if #2 will be born on the same day as well!!

   DS is doing pretty well, he says the usual mama, dada, and banana and yogurt (ogurt) but he repeats a lot when I talk to him, things like danger, all done, etc. Not sure if that counts but it's really cute to hear.
