Washington Babies

Hospital/Birth Center

Hi all,

I am new here and as some of you already had babies, can anyone recommend a good ob/gyn and hospital/birth center around Lynnwood area? My gfriends had their babies in Swedish hospital in Seattle, and I would love to go there as well but need something closer to Lynnwood in case of emergency and/or rush hour. Please help!

Where did you have your babies? :)

Re: Hospital/Birth Center

  • My sister in-law had her twins at Valley Medical Center.  I don't know how close that is to Lynwood though.

  • For that area people I know have either gone to Evergreen or The Pavillion.  I went through Everett Clinic, which delivers at The Pavillion, in Everett.  I saw Dr. Jordan, as have a few other women on here.

  • What about Stevens?  I went to Swedish First Hill, even though I live on the east side and it was fine.  That is kind of far from Lynnwood though.  I'd say either Stevens, somewhere in Everett, or maybe Northwest (north Seattle)?

  • I think Stevens is the closest hospital, but I don't know anything about it.  I live in Lynnwood but am giving birth in Kirkland.  It's 20 minutes away, but I think I'll have enough advanced warning to get to the hospital just fine.

Good luck.  I'm currently struggling to find a pediatrician in Lynnwood...Lynnwood seems to be great for shopping, but bad for medical care!

  • I recommend Dr Vu at NW Hospital. It is in the Northgate area. It is a smaller hospital, but really great.

  • Dr.Keys is amazing! She is at Evergreen Hospital in Kirkland about 20 min away from Lynnwood. The number there is 425-889-6400

If 128th isn't too far out of your way I highly recommend Providence Physicians Group Pediatrics. We see Dr.Osetinsky (and love, love, love) but we have also seen all the other Dr's in the office, and at the walk in clinic and all have been wonderful! I even love the radiology offices there - they let me nurse in one of their private changing rooms, and when my son had to have his first x-ray, they "involved" him in the process.

They are located right behind the Fred Meyers on 132nd (I don't, however, recommend Fred meyers pharmacy).

Justine also used to take Isabelle there and loved them too!

  • By Far, I felt like Evergreen Hospitals Womens care AND birthing center in Kirkland (Totem Lake) was the best!  They are totally supportive (but not overbearing) when it comes to Breastfeeding (which initially I was not going to do because I assumed twins would be too complicated) and their birthing center is more like a hotel lol.  To boot, my twins were born nearly 2 months early and their NICU is one of the best on this side of the country...  I'm not exactly sure how far Lynnwood is since we recently moved back to Olympia and didnt live in Kirkland for very long, but, from what I remember, lynwood is at the top of 405...if that's the case, your looking at about 10-15 miles or less (i think...). Which is WELL worth the trip when it comes to getting the best care for one of the most important things you will ever do!
  • Another vote for Evergreen Hospital in Kirkland. That's where I'll be delivering.  I also recommend the Center for Women's Healthcare at Evergreen: https://www.womenshealthcare.org/.  All the docs and the midwives there are awesome!
  • Thank you ALL for replying! The info you provided is very helpful to me.

I've made my decision and going with Evergreen Hospital in Kirkland. :) Will be in contact with them tomorrow!

  • I loved Stevens and I am so glad I had my baby there.  I went in 5 weeks early, on one of their busiest nights, and I felt like I was their only patient.  My daughter received fabulous care in the NICU for 18 days.  They even let me stay at the hospital in my own room for free the entire time she was there.  I still go back and visit the nurses there - and my daughter is 14 1/2 months old now.  I couldn't imagine having a baby anywhere else.  My OB is at Sound Womens Care - right across the street from the hospital.
