I have had no desire to eat anything home cooked for the past 4 weeks or so. I have no idea why, but food from restaurants, even if it's just McDonald's, sounds so much more appetizing to me. Is anyone else experiencing this?
Yes! I am all for eating out b/c I cannot stand the smell of my stove right now. Every time DH turns it on I have to go outside. This whole heightened sense of smell freaks me out. I would say that about 50% of my meals in the past 2 weeks have been take out. Sad, but true.
I don't know about you, but for me it is the difference between preparing raw food, and having it served to me cooked. I much prefer eating out right now than eating in... but it is getting expensive
I totally feel your pain. I have not had a meal at home for 6 weeks. Its driving my dh crazy! I have a had an aversion to watching food being cooked or smelling it cooking. I even missed my best freind's bday party because she went to one of those restaraunts where they cook the food at your table.
Even worse when I eat out I end up ordering food I don't eat. Buffets have become my best friend. I don't have to feel as bad when I don't eat something I thought was a good idea at the time. Needless to say its been an expensive pregnancy thus far

I thought that I was alone on this as well. Mine is more that everything that I normally cook and eat and usually I like, doesn't taste good to me. I end of eating a bowl of cereal or ice cream , which isn't helping me in the calorie department. When I 1st found out, all I wanted was meat and cheese. Nothing sweet, and now it seems to have switched.

I was just trying to explain this to my husband last night. I feel super guilty because we are trying to be frugal, but I really only want food that was prepared no where near me.
yep. I was just able to start cooking again this week. We've had a lot of takeout in the past few weeks!

I've been like that to a certain degree mostly because I've been craving things that I can't make at home. DH and I have had some heated discussions about my wanting to go out every night and fast food every day for lunch.

I've been the opposite. Last night was the first night in a month that I could go out for a nice dinner with DH. Lately, the best I can do is a baked potato from Wendy's.

Our beautiful daughter was born in October 2009. Turns out she was quite the miracle. After two years of TTC, diagnosed with DOR. A couple of failed treatment cycles later, we decided to let go of our hope for more biological children and explore adoption.
Yeah that's me. Like PP's I have an aversion to raw food and smelling food being prepared. So for the past six 6 weeks we have eaten out most nights. This week I have done pretty well. I have cooked the past two nights!
i am all about eating out right now. firstly i am too tired to grocery shop. secondly i am too tired to cook. thirdly i would be to tired to clean up after us should we eat at home. it just seems easier to go out. besides, i dont figure we will be going out much after they are born. might as well ham it up now!

I am having two issues on that front that are leading me to eat out more.
#1 Dealing with raw food (especially meat) makes me want to gag.
#2 I don't know what I want to eat until I get hungry and then I am starving and I'm not going to go to the store and then cook.
