Pregnant after 35

pregnancy books for women over 35

Are any of you planning on buying books that talk about what to expect during your pregnancy geared for women over 35? I've seen some on Amazon, like Your Over 35 Week by Week Pregnancy Guide. I know you can go crazy with all the pregnancy books out there and I'm not sure if they are all the same but want to make more money off us "older" ladies or if they do truly have useful information not in the regular books.

Re: pregnancy books for women over 35

  • I checked out several books for "Over 35" and really was not that impressed. None of the books I saw were recently revised (they were all over 5 years old) so I stuck with the regular Your Pregnancy Week by Week and have been happy with the book--as well as The Mayo Clinic Guide to Healthy Pregnancy.

There are a lot of good books out there. And my suggestion is to go to a bookstore, rather than Amazon, so you can look through the book before buying it.

Hopefully you'll have a BFP soon and will need the books!

  • I had Your Over 35 Week by Week Pregnancy Guide and didn't find it that helpful.  It did explain the tests available (amnio), but other than that I don't think you need a specific book for AMA women.  I'd check out what they have at your local library.

I did like The Girlfriend's Guide to Pregnancy and I believe she was over 35 and explains the amnio and CVS tests.

  • The only age oriented book I bought was Pregnancy after 35.....and I hated it.  It had such a ridiculous old school feel to it.

This.  I just bought The Pregnancy Journal which I love because it's a daily update instead of weekly.
