Babies: 9 - 12 Months

I think I'm going to cry.

I'm so happy. I don't know what happened but for some reason our medical insurance went back and reviewed our charges... Yea they covered like... 75% of what we thought were out of pocket charges to date. We were well above 20,000 out of pocket with all of Josiah's issues. I got a new bill in the mail today and now all we owe is around 5,000 or so. I'm going to call and set up a payment plan today. I seriously think I'm going to cry I'm so happy. This means we won't have to file bankruptcy. We can manage this. Thank you insurance fairy!!

  • I'm so happy for you. :)
  • I think that is disgusting that you were going to have to file bankruptcy over medical issues.  Unless bankruptcy was over buying a Hummer to get you back and forth to the hospital, then there is something truly wrong with our medical system.
PS I'm happy for you too.
  • It is so nice to hear a good health insurance story!
  • That is great! What a relief!

  • It's the most amazing thing when something unexpected happens like that. We were really behind on a couple bills, and after paying them, DH's check was shorter from a miscalculation of his insurance, and we were short on getting formula and such for the baby, and a lady at work gave me a check for $100...how she knew about it I don't know.

But I'm SO glad that you don't have to file bankruptcy. Not for it not being such a hot thing, but just because things are already stressful enough for you! That just would've made it worse! Congrats on the good news :)

Heyyy we match! Lol (nice screen name)

I agree with you. I used to cry over this for days. It seems so unfair that because our son is sick we were in financial crisis. It's not like we bought a bunch of stuff out of our budget or anything.  This hospital is ruthless (and it's where DH works too, go figure). They even had a collection agency take money out of our bank account at one point. It's been horrible.  I don't know what prompted this change but since we're getting a full bill FROM the hospital and not a collections agency we're going to take advantage of that!

  • Yayy! What a blessing!
  • Wow what a blessing! I'm sure you're relieved. Yeah for good insurance people that find things like that.
