suddenly freaked by vacuum & hair dryer?

i remember the days when these two things used to put DS to sleep or at least quiet his crying...

now they make him cry uncontrollably :(  i can't dry my hair when i'm home alone with him, and forget vacuuming.  his face gets red, he does the puppy dog eyes, and cries huge tears.

did this happen with your LO around the same age (6ish months)??

    I have never been able to vac aaround DS. He screams. He is afraid of it.  He also hates the blender.  I haven't really tried to blow dry my hair around him.

    DS freaked out when I vacuumed this week, he's never done it before.

    I usually put DD in the swing while I run the vac. Yesterday I put her on the floor and she freaked out!  She was scared of it, but kept following it and crying.  poor kid!

    DS has never liked the vacuum and I don't own a hair dryer.

    Not the hair dryer, but definitely the vacuum. It used to make him sleep, now he cries.  Very weird.

    Same thing to happened to DS around that age.  I would always have my husband or MIL take him for a walk and then I would vacuum.  I didn't blow dry my hair for months!  I just tried vacuuming around him a few weeks ago and he was fine; dried my hair in front of him a few days ago and he didn't even notice!  Maybe it's temporary, although I have heard it is common for them to develop a fear of the vacuum, etc around 10 to 11 months...I have another month and a half to be able to dry my hair without worry :)
