  I just took mine out last night for the same reason. She was starting to tug on it while she was standing so I just don't want any accidents.?

  DD has been standing in her crib for a month now. She DOES stand on her bumper and it does give her some leverage, but she's pretty short so she still only gets as high as her mouth to the top of the crib.  I think when she can clear her chin, I'll take it out.

  MH was insisitant that we take it out when DS started to move more in the crib, then DS got sick on it so we had to take it out to wash it. DS was 5.5mos we put in the breathable bumpers to keep him from getting his legs caught since he sleeps sideways now.

  When colin started moving everywhere we removed it and put up breathable bumpers.  Probably around 5 months?

  we took out the normal bumpers about 3 months ago when DS started sleeping on his side. We put in the breathable bumpers because he was getting arms and legs caught in the slats.
