Sunscreen?

What kind of sunscreen do you use on DC?

I'd like to use something natural like California Baby since I have a feeling she'll be wearing a lot of it this spring/summer....she wants to be outside ALL day long! It seems expensive compared to regular sunscreen though and I was wondering if there are other options. TIA!

Re: Sunscreen?

  • I really like the aveeno baby sunscreen, we have been using it since last summer and I really like how it's not greasy.

  • I use California Baby.  But, when I run out of that I will buy coppertone or whatever.

  • I use Water Babies. It was good enough for me, it's good enough for my DD. I get the 50 SPF, and apply 1 hour prior to leaving the house and then reapply every hour if we're doing something that gets her wet or sweaty (like swimming).

  • I used California Baby last year and will use it again this year.  I know it's more expensive, but to me it's worth it because it doesn't have the chemicals that a lot of other sunscreens have in them.

  • We use California Baby

  • FYI, just b/c something is chemical-free doesn't mean it's necessarily *good* for your tot. A study was recently released showing California Baby and other chemical-free sunscreens marketed toward kids contain nanoparticles that could be hazardous in large quantities. I'll be switching.
