even google isn't dumbing this down enough for me to understand the results from my placenta testing. any brainiacs out there who know what the heck this means?:
"third trimester placenta with focal intervillous fibrin deposits with associated villous infarction"
this is apparently the explanation for why my placenta sucked.
Re: apparently i need to go to medical school

No medical degree on my part, but I think it means (loosely) that there were some blockages placenta.
fibrin - the insoluble protein end product of blood coagulation, formed from fibrinogen by the action of thrombin in the presence of calcium ions.
infarct - a localized area of tissue, as in the heart or kidney, that is dying or dead, having been deprived of its blood supply because of an obstruction by embolism or thrombosis
villi - one of the minute, wormlike processes on certain membranes, esp. on the mucous membrane of the small intestine, where they serve in absorbing nutriment
ETA: I have had to research my own pathology reports before...I had to look these words up to piece it together. I didn't know the exact definititions offhand. If anything, having DD has killed my vocabulary : )
so basically part of my placenta was dead and starving hadley. yikes. thanks for the help deciphering this mumbo jumbo. i wonder if they sell a decoder ring for these things!
Nah...better to bill you $250 for an office visit where you can ask for an explanation ; )
I like the decoder ring idea better though.
