Hi, I just had my baby 2 weeks ago and will be returning to work in a couple months. I am a 12 month teacher. I will be going back to work sometime late May/early June. I just found out that the school system will be instituting "summer hours" this summer to save energy, so they will be closed every Friday but we are required to work 10 hours days Monday through Thursday. This will start in July and go for 5 weeks. While I am ecstatic to have Fridays off with DD, I'm upset that after only 1 month of daycare I will be leaving DD there for around 11 hours instead of our typical 8-9. Please tell me this isn't a big deal and is going to upset me much more than it will upset my DD. I think I'm just still emotional/hormonal but I'm really upset about it at the moment. Thanks.
Re: Going back to different schedule
I would love to work 4 10s instead of 5 days a week! Just think of how nice it will be to have a whole extra day with your LO. Your LO will be just fine.
