Ok even though this is my second, i created a reg. at walmart, i am not going to tell people i have it. I mainly did it for a list for myself so i dont have to keep up with a paper and keep an eye on sales for the items i want. Does this sound tacky to anyone? The only reason why i ask is because an old high school friend was searching around walmart reg. and happen to come acrossed mine and told me i was rude and greedy. The only things on my list is a crib, dresser/changer, and some other odds that we are needing.

Thoughts would be great!

Well, you can just tell everyone that you created the registry for the completion program (im assuming walmart has one) for yourself. Tell your friend to STFU. Thats rude!

I don't see anything wrong with what you did. The registry is a checklist for you to track what you need for your baby and you aren't asking people to buy you stuff. I think your friend is the tacky one for searching around the registry website in the first place! Is there a way to make your registry private? I know Target has this option so that only select people can see it.

I think your highschool friend is rude. I don't think there is anything wrong with you creating it for your personal reference... plus I'm sure you get some sort of discount once your "event" has passed so that's good for you!

said friend is rude for calling you greedy. I know lots of people that do registries to keep track of what they need, and to get the coupons for them later.

Telling someone you are rude and greedy is actually quite rude. You are allowed to do whatever you want registry-wise and your friend can STFU about it if she has a problem. I hope she really just is an old hs friend, because she doesn't seem worth maintaining a relationship with.

I don't think it is greedy at all. BRU is really expensive. If anything, I think it's nice to try and save your family and friends some money. Plus Walmart has a really cute line of Graco Winnie the Pooh stuff that they don't have at BRU. So what if you like the stuff at Walmart better?? I don't see anything wrong with registering at 2 places.

I don't think that it's rude or greedy especially if you weren't planning on telling anyone about it! It's your list & if you want to write down or kkep it online, what business is it of anyone else's? Besides what is she doing, looking up random people's names on Wal-Mart reg? What a loser!!!!!

I don't think it's weird, rude or greedy at all. Right now, my BRU registry just has furniture on it because I am trying to decide which furniture I want, etc. I guess the bigger question is- why was she looking for your registry? It's almost as though she wanted to call you out or something.

Your friend is the tacky one, not you, if the situation is as you describe. that's so dumb! I started a registry almost right away. I guess to your "friend" that would mean I expected gifts at 8 weeks. lol Um no, I used to to keep track of things I randomly found and wanted.

Its not greedy you didn't tell anyone about it and plus dont they give you a completion coupon so you can use that.

even though this is my second, immediate family members are already asking what i need (especially if this one is a girl). i'm debating whether to tell them about the registry, but if i do i want to make sure they understand that i made it for MY personal use to keep track of what I need to buy...hmmmm...

Your friend is nosy! I plan on registering even though I don't plan on having a shower for the same reasons you have registered. I will probably do that at BRU. I also feel like even without a shower people will be looking to give me gifts and if they WANT to look me up on BRU since most people register there, more power to them. As with you, I don't plan to advertise it. And by the way, even though this is your second child, people may want to give you gifts, so I see no reason to make it private just because your friend had an issue.

Tell your "friend" to keep her dumb opinions to herself!!!

This is my first, and am not sure if I'm having a shower, but I'm using my registry as a check list for myself more than anything so I can keep track of what I need. what you're doing is very organized and sensible IMO

Not rude. We'll do a small registry for #2 even though I insist that no one throws me a shower. People still want to buy things! And it's an easy way to keep a list of what you want/need, as you said.

what a b!itch! its none of her business...i registered for a crib even though my mom is getting our furniture but I just wanted it to be easier on her...if she saw my registry she would prob not think you were so greedy! hahah

no i don't think it's greedy at all in fact i kept DS's registry b/c my mom wanted to get some stuff off of it for xmas/1st bday etc... and now i've added some stuff for this baby but mainly to keep track of the items i need/want for him. it's just nice to pull it up and see oh yah, i need to get that before he arrives etc... nobody else knows i have it still except my mom.

I fail to see how it makes you greedy if you aren't telling people about it. There are plenty of reasons to have a registry (personal list, completion coupons) that don't involve other people. Can you make your registry private? I know Target and BRU have that ability, but I'm not sure about Walmart.?

If you are not sending-out the registry to people, then I don't think it is greedy at all. She chose to look for your name, you didn't direct her there. I think she is rude and needs to mind her own business.
