Convertible car seats & when to turn...

I am in no way looking to turn DS to be forward facing any time soon but...just wanted to know when this is usually done and if there is a website or anything with info on this?

Re: Convertible car seats & when to turn...

  • the smartest/safest thing to do is wait until DC reaches the rear facing height or weight limit before turning them. i know it's usually 35lbs....

  • I think its either 1yr or 20something lbs. You'd have to look it up.

  • they have to be one year and 20lbs to turn it around. Although when I had ours inspected I was told if her feet are hitting the seat and her knees have to bend then we have to turn it around.

  • 1 year AND 20 lbs at the earliest. ?They are now saying that it is safer to leave babies rear facing longer. ?Most?convertible?seats can hold a child rear facing up to 35 lbs.

Really? Who told you this? Not flaming, just curious because all I've ever heard and read was that it's perfectly fine for their legs to bend in the RF position. I've seen many toddlers sitting cross-legged in their RF seat.
