TTC After a Loss

What do I need to ask at the OB/Gyn?

I finally made an appointment to discuss the fact that I am still not KU.  I'm nervous and have no idea what to expect or what I should ask.   And I don't even know if this will be covered by insurance- it's been 8 months since my c/p.

Any advice, girls?

  • I have no idea what to suggest you ask since I have yet to make this kind of appt. for myself. I just wanted to wish you good luck! And your siggy pics are awesome.

  • When I went back in 07, they tested me for certain things b/c I was also only having AF every like 3 months.  Do you have regular cycles and do you chart?

My cycles are what I would call normal.  They are a bit longer (34 days on average) and can vary from 30-40 days.  I don't chart but I use the CBEFM.  And I get AF like clockwork, 14 days after my 2nd peak.

  • I'd ask for a plan of action, i.e. when will he do tests (and what type).   My doctor went over the results of hormonal bloodwork, and looked at my charts, after which we formed a plan.  I asked him simple questions about things I had been avoiding (caffeine) or thought about trying to TTC, like whether baby aspirin was a good idea.

  • Have you had any blood work done?  Have you talked to your doctor about other options such as IUI?  When you do go take a note pad to write down everything.  I also write down my questions in the notebook so I'm prepared at the appointment.  Also, do you chart?  If so I would print it up and bring it with you so your doctor can see how your cycles have been normal.  If you have your annual coming up maybe you can just combine the appointments that way you know it's covered.
  • The above suggestions are good. I just wanted to wish you luck!!
