**PeachyPear**

I saw your double stroller post.  The Snap N Go is a great beginning stroller, but it's not compatible with the Chicco seats, and they've said they aren't working to make it compatible.  It's nearly impossible to find a double stroller that fits 2 infant seats.

Side by sides are much easier to push than tandem, and most fit through standard doors and store aisles.  My favorite "light weight" "compact" double is the Baby Jogger City Mini.  No one sells them locally, but you can play with ours if you want to test it.  It's probably the most popular double stroller on the Bump multiples board.  A lot of people also have the Bumbleride and BOB, but they aren't compact or light.

The best place to test drive doubles locally is Segals.  Often Piccolina on SE Clinton sells used double strollers.  Let me know if you want me to post an ISO stroller ad on our local multiples board.  We just had our resale last week, and I bet some people still have strollers available.

Re: **PeachyPear**

  • THANKS! I was going to check with you specifically Smile Your response has definitely been the most helpful.

Sounds like both my SIL and I chose the most difficult carseat :: curses consumer reports for giving it such a high rating :: But besides, I think it makes sense to have my parents get a stroller that will work for all ages. Thank you SO much for the recommendation!! So the Baby Jogger City Mini reclines for newborns? To be honest, I hadn't even heard of reclining strollers until reading on the multiples board!

Naturally, my parents mention this right after the multiples resale! (Although I can't believe that I didn't think of it! Of course they'll need a double stroller). I'll check in with my parents first, but will likely ask you to post for us, in case anyone has one left. And thanks for the offer to check yours out - I may be taking you up on that. I will be going to Segal's and Piccolina soon anyway, so I'll also look there. (I <3 Piccolina and check in periodically for a few things, and DH and I have yet to pick out a stroller for ourselves and were going to look at Segal's).

    Thanks again!

  • Glad I could help a bit. We were also going to get the Chicco seats because of their high ratings, but we ended up with Britax for the SNG.  They were great seats, and the nurses at the hospital were glad we had them.

The seats do fully recline on the Baby Jogger, and they have great independent sun/rain shades. It's also really easy to steer (even with only one baby in it). The storage basket underneath is fine, but it's not huge. It has enough room for some bottles and toys. We bought the parent console to hold pacifiers and cell phones. We haven't missed having a snack tray, but one can purchase that separately. We like that the wheels are hard rubber instead of plastic.  Inflatable wheels would have popped on us by now after strolling over broken glass and other urban litter.  What else can I say about double strollers . . . Maclaren was our second choice, but the umbrella handles weren't as easy to steer with one hand. We also liked the Zooper, but it doesn't fold compactly.  Oh, and the Aria is really light, but a lot of people say it doesn't hold up well or push easily with bigger kids.

Eek, it's going to be like your parents have twins.  By four months, they're going to want to have an Exersaucer and Jumperoo to create a play circuit for the babies.  It will keep them sane.  I also recommend the plastic IKEA high chairs.  They're super cheap and really easy to clean - even if food sits for a while.  Oh, and 2 Superyards.  Fences and gates will be their friends.

  • You are so stinkin' helpful!

Thanks for the input on strollers. I'll definitely pass it on to my parents. The Baby Jogger sounds great - Maybe we will get the single for ourselves! One of these days, I'm going to actually get Richard out to look at carseats and strollers (we haven't purchased yet), so maybe we'll see about getting a carseat that actually works with other products.

And thanks for all the other tips. I'll pass those onto my parents as well. They are completely infatuated with baby gear right now. I have been eying the Ikea highchair. Glad to know you like it.

Yeah, it is crazy that my parents are "having twins." I hadn't realized it before they said something this weekend. I kept thinking silly things like "Oh, how convenient that my SIL and I picked out the same carseat - now my parents will only need one base in their car." Duh! Unless they actually want to go somewhere with both babies!

  • I'm dragging this post out, but I was at BRU last night, and the wheels on their single City Mini is different on my double.  I have no idea why because the website still shows the hard rubber wheels on both the single and double.

Price shop online.  I found great deals on both the Britax infant and convertible seats and the strollers.  Also, BRU offers a multiples discount of 10% on any two items over $75.  They have to be the exact same item though.  It could come in very handy if you, your parents, and your SIL get together to buy car seats or strollers or equipment in the future.

I'm finding you on Facebook right now so that I can send you my twin must have list.

  • Hmmm... Thanks for noticing the wheels. We'll be careful about that. And thanks for the tip on 10% off. I'll have to remember to coordinate with my SIL when we buy things! Richard and I will hopefully be looking at strollers and carseats Sunday or Monday!

BTW - I "accepted" you on FB.

Oh - and I got in touch with Mother Tree. (Yes... finally! I don't know why I didn't do this two months ago). They sound great. We're going to be meeting with Stacy Marshall - don't know if it's the same as Stacy B who you had.
