craptastic doesn't even begin (long and negative vent)
to describe this day. sorry guys, but I just needed to vent for a bit, I'm in tears right now.
one of my cousins on my mother's side of the family has been kidnapped in Mexico. He lives in the US, but my aunt/uncle live in this little border town called Miguel Aleman right across from Roma, TX. It's a small town, but rife with drug problems and drug related crime breaks out once in a while. He visits his parents often b/c he has a little one and one on the way, and he's going through a bitter divorce. that's a whole 'nother story in and of itself. I guess someone had been following his movemnts or knew of them, because on his visit this past weekend, he just disappeared. He went out with friends and never came home. Today my uncle got a call that some gang has been holding him and is asking for $6m in cash. My uncle/aunt are wealthy by Mexican standards, but not $6m-lying-around-wealthy. We're utterly devestated and trying to figure out what to do. The kidnappers won't accept payment in the form of property or bonds, which is what my uncle has at his disposal right now. You know, you always read about this shiit on the news, but you never think you'll have anything to do with it.
one of my coworkers got laid off - first one in our office branch. there were two girls in her area, her and another woman. and the worst part is that the other girl was 1) totally incompetent, 2) hated by most of us, and 3) had a wealthy live-in boyfriend whom she always bragged about because "she totally didn't need to work if she didn't want to, since XX could take care of her." Which pisses me off further because my coworker that got laid off is a single mom who's little girl was just diagnosed with some rare form of scoliosis. I guess I'm just bitter. I really want to help her, but don't know what to do.
My younger, 20 yr old brother found out over the weekend that his identity was stolen. He looked into his bank account and lo and behold some withdrawals were made from some effin bank in Nigeria and the bank is not willing to take responsibility, take no mind that my brother signed up for that credit protection program that some banks offer. To top it off, when my best friend (who is an attorney) did some digging around, she found out that not one, but TWO shitcunts in Indiana had apparently filed their tax returns under his social security number, and taken out loans in his name. When I went to speak to my brother in person about his and got on the phone with my best friend, I can't tell you how awful it is to hear a grown man cry. Even worse when it's my own brother who is probably the nicest guy you'll ever meet. Oh, and let's not forget that he's getting laid off in about 2 months and so he's losing his tuiton reimbursements. the identity theft bit makes me so angry. The kind of angry where you start imagining the kind of things that you would do to the people who have hurt your loved ones, and ways in which you might be able to get away with it.
and finally and perhaps the most insignificant thing is that I'm on effin' cycle day 45 and AF has not shown her ugly mug. but that's ok compared to all the other stuff above.
quite possibly weebabe's appearance is the only thing that's made me feel better today.
Sorry, I'm done. re: comments above, i'm not psycho, i promise. Maybe just a tad bit mental at times.

OMG, I am so sorry about all of that. ?That's terrifying about your cousin. ?I hope he will be found safely. ?And your poor brother. ?:(

that is so awful! I really hope that your cousin is found unharmed and your brothers ID recovered and damn AF shows. I'm so sorry about all of this.

My MIL is a firm believer in 'everything happens in sets of 3' (3 bad things, 3 good things). Your cousin, coworker, and brother could be the 3 bad things. Here's hoping that 3 good things are on the way.
I am so sorry. There just aren?t words to describe the day you are having. I will keep you and your family in my prayers. Hopefully things start to go right for you soon.

Thanks everyone. I've tried to keep myself busy today to keep myself a bit distracted. I didn't want to tell anyone at work what was wrong, mostly because the damn secretaries here tend to gossip, and I just couldn't deal with any pity looks or questions, or else I might throat punch someone.
