On a positive note... Because you bought a house this year you will get an extra $8,000 in your tax refunds next year that you don't have to pay back! (If it is your first house anyways.)
I am in the same position!! It is new construction, the builder is an ass who really has been giving us bad info as to when it would be done. He said we would be in by Feb.....The frame just went up this past weekend!! I'm stressed about when to lock in a mortgage rate with the rates that keep going down and the 60 day lock since who knows when this builder will be done! I'm loosing half my income, why did we decide to do this now?? So stressful! But will hopefully be well worth it in the end!!
I know, I feel your pain. We close on our house on Friday, and I am totally stressed over it. And then, the hassle of finding a house begins- we weren't expecting the house to sell so soon so we haven't found anything yet!! Keep your fingers crossed for all of us!!
I'm right with you. We close on our first house on Friday, and then start moving. I'm trying to pack this week as much as possible, but DH is at work. He has been very helpful when he's home, but it's still very stressful for me since there are so many things that I'm not supposed to do, besides taking care of DD. She's at my mom's house today, though, so I should be able to get her room packed. Thankfully we're just moving out of an apartment. That $8000 tax credit will be very helpful, though, and we will get it on THIS year's taxes since we're filing an amendment. If this is your first house, you should try to do that, too. Or maybe you already are. GL and I totally know what you're going through!
