I just took the one hour and my results were 165/130, so my OB wants me to do the 3 hour. Of course the morning I had the 1 hour I had starbucks and that of course didn't help. I really hope that it is nothing...but it is hard not to worry. Going in tomorrow!

Re: Glucose Tolerance Test
I took the test 2 weeks ago. My OB told me specifically DO NOT eat any different than usual. If you try to fast or avoid carbs, you can throw off the results because your body may over-respond to the sugars in the drink.
I had a bowl of cereal with soy milk for breakfast around 8am, a banana at 10am, and my test started at 10:45am (blood drawn at 11:45am). I had a level of 86 on the test.
My OB said the exact same thing...Eat as you normally would. Just going to avoid the extra starbucks or sugars just in case (no cake for breakfast
. They did tell me to eat some carbs about 8 pm for two days prior and then nothing after midnight the night before. Hopefully like many people have said on here that it is nothing.
And...many years ago they didn't do this test! I think it is all about proportion.
Thanks!
I failed the 1 hour with a 167.
I passed the 3 hour with no problem. My doc said that 1 out of 3 women fail the 1 hour, bt only 4% of pregnant women are diagnosed with GD.
Good luck!
