  I say go for it! I think it will look great!  I love wearing scarves. I do so mainly in the winter here in MI but I have some I just wear for looks too.

  I think you should go for it!  I don't wear scarfs if I don't need to. I always feel like I am choking.

  I love scarfs. I have a lot of plain, solid shirts that I wear with jeans so scarfs are the best way I know to add color. In Boston, I have scarves for various seasons.
  

  If the material is light it would be perfect for a Florida spring with a tank top and jeans and flippy floppies.

  I'm like you. I love them but when I put them on I feel silly.

  Considering I've never seen one I though looked bad on anyone else I think it's just because it's not your norm. I would play with it. Try different ways to wear it and mix it with different clothes. I'm sure it will look great.
