I am only 10 weeks pregnant,in NYC, and an over 35 soon to be mom. I just started looking into where to give birth and found out that the doctor that I have been seeing , whom I do like a lot, is affiliated with a hospital that doesn't look like it is the place I'd like to give birth. He is affiliated with Lennox Hill, has anyone experience this hospital? My Insurance covers me at Lennox Hill, NYU,St Lukes, Cabrini...and a few others. My invisionment is to be in a LDR room, to be able to move freely during labor , to breastfeed immediately and have my baby in the room with me after birth (not off in a nursery alone!). Since Lennox website doesn't appear to promote anything of the sort I assume this is not an option there, so now I am thinking I have to find both a hospital and a new doctor..which makes me sad, stressed and anxious about making the right choices. Any insight would be helpful for this new mom to be. Thank you.
Re: NYC: Dr Vs. hospital(looking for suggestions)
I personally dont' think you can go by a website to determine whether or not a hospital promotes those things.?
You will have to speak to your dr about your birth plan & follow up care while in the hospital. If after you speak to your dr, if you feel the same way then I'd ask your dr for a referral to someone/someplace that does support what you want.?
