I am taking 200 mg 3 times a day... I seem to think that is high and I am starting to have stiff muscles in my abdomen and lower back. I feel like everyone else only takes dosages 2 times a day... give me your feedback so I can call my MW this morning to ask about this... TIA!
edit: I am taking suppositories.

Re: prometrium ladies- tell me your dosage!
I took the same dosage you are taking (stopped at 12.5 weeks). Honestly, I would not request a lower dosage. My Dr. told me this was the maximum dosage he would recommend so I stuck with it the entire first tri. I wanted to make sure I was doing absolutely everything I could to support the pregnancy. For me, it definitely did the trick this time around. I think for women that have had a few losses, Dr.s like to supplement progesterone to the max & I personally think it's great.
As far as your stiff muscles, I don't think this is a side effect of the progesterone at all (I didn't have any side effects from the medication). Anyways, as you get bigger, the muscle aches are going to get so much worse so get used to it!
Thanks... It is good to know that they may be giving me more since I had 2 losses. I don't mind taking them, last night I was literally in pain all around my abs, lower back and butt. I felt like I was on a stairmaster for several hours or something, but I had not been. I read that less than 10% get terrible stiffness as a se, so that is what I was worried about. I did feel a little better this morning and have started to take some tylenol to deal with the discomfort.
If they say that is okay/normal I am all about putting up with it if it means a healthy baby. I just feel disconnected from my dr since she prescribed them over the phone- I didn't really get a good idea except from on here what they were for or what to expect. I called in just to confirm this was the correct dosage since everyone else seemed to be taking a lot less...
Thanks!
