We just took Paige last Friday so 18 months. Unless you are concerned I would say you don't need to worry about it till age 3. Just make sure you are brushing and if you give sugars make sure you brush right after. :-)
dd started going at 2 1/2 (she fell and chipped a tooth... our old family dentist said three, this dentist said 2). ds will start going next fall after his 2nd bday.
We'll go at three also. We just started using "big kid" toothpaste with fluoride and DS has been so good about spitting and rinsing. For some reason that really seemed like a huge step, he's growing so fast
My mother in law was telling me how crazy I was that my son hasn't been yet. I am going to take him this summer and he will be 2 years and 8 months. He doesn't have a lot of sugar and we brush his teeth very regularly, so I was thinking he would be ok until then...?
We just took DS for the first time last weekend. He is 3 yrs old.
I'm a dental assistat and from what I've seen, most Dr's won't do much until a child is 3 yrs old. Before 3 yrs old they are not really cooperative and would have to be seen by a pediodontist(specialist)
My DD went for the 1st time at 2 1/2 and will go every 6 months now. I'll do the same timeline with my younger DD. They did as much of a whole cleaning at that appointment as my DD would allow. They did suggest we get her an electirc toothbrush so she is more used to the feel of the dentist brush and she loves it.
Re: Dentist
