I announced my pregnancy yesterday to my MIL's family. One of the cousins said that when his girlfriend went to her NT scan they were able to tell them with like 70% certainty if it was a boy or a girl. Has anyone else heard of this? I've ALWAYS heard that you can't find out until 20 weeks. I'm just curious!

You really shouldn't have your email addy as your username. Spam will be arriving in you inbox shortly, I'm sure.
At our NT scan the tech guessed girl, and it ended up being a boy
We found out the gender for sure at 16 wks though.

Better yet - google sex organs 11/12/13 weeks gestation and see how much they look alike. It's really difficult to tell. Intelligender will give the same or better odds as the NT scan, honestly, and I pretty much believe that is a scam.

I would change your name ASAP. Never EVER use your email as a username on any board.

Yes, it is possible. See https://www.baby2see.com/gender/study_ultrasound.html .
I have my NT scan tomorrow and actually wish it were a week later so we could get a better idea of the gender- but I still intend on pressuring the doc to take a guess!
The tech at my sister's told her she was 99% sure it was a boy. She told her don't paint the nursery yet but she was certain. It did turn out to be a boy!
I hope they'll guess at my NT scan next week.
They wouldn't even look at mine. They were more concerned with checking to see if the baby was ok, not what was between its legs.
If you do have a tech who will look, I certainly wouldn't paint the nursery or buy gender specific items until your big U/S.
Same thing happened to me at 12w2d. The tech said that while she could be wrong about the baby being a boy, the swelling in the genital area would be rather extreme for a girl. We don't care either way. It was fun to get a guess, but we're waiting for the big ultrasound to start buying clothes and such.
